I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with an Endorsement in Mild/Moderate Handicaps from Peru State College in Nebraska. I graduated Summa cum laude in 1986.  I earned my Masters Degree from Azusa Pacific University, California, in Pupil Personnel Services-School counseling in 1992.  I continued classes and field work at the junior high, high school, and elementary levels to get my clear Multiple Subjects and Special Education credentials in California. I earned my CLAD in 1996 in Northern California.

I continue my education through workshops, conferences, and an on-going study of Education Through Music.

I was recruited right out of college to teach in Southern California where I taught general education students in 2nd, 1/2 combination, 6th and a 3/4 combination.

I have been teaching in the special education field in varying grades K-8 since 1993, in both special day class and Resource/learning center.  I earned the Outsanding Educator" award for Woodland Joint USD 1997-1998.

I was hired by Dixon Unified School District in 2005. The first 3 years I worked at Anderson Elementary. I moved to Tremont with the merging of Silveyville and Anderson reorganization.

The School Year 2014-2015 will be my tenth year in Dixon, and teaching year 28 overall.

I was born and raised in Nebraska where I enjoyed family time, road trips through wide-open prairies, and going to summer camp.

I moved to Moreno Valley, CA in 1986.  I married my native Californian husband in 1988.  With his job transfer, we moved to Dixon in 1993.

When not teaching or doing other school related activities, I may be traveling, hiking, baking, or paddling a canoe.
